Flexibility and Strength for Pole
For all levels
Flexibility involves more than just a good stretch! We need strong muscles and healthy fascia, ligaments, joints and tendons to support movement, particularly if you dream of mastering splits and deep backbends. In these class expect strengthening yoga poses, strong and intentional movements and active flexibility drills. Develop your mind/body connection, improve muscular engagement, bring more fluidity and control to your dancing, and explore what feels good for you. Classes are structured to work with different parts of the body on a 4-week rotation - lower body and hips, backbends, upper body and core, and once a month we relax with yin yoga stretches allow your body time to replenish and recover from the demands of pole dance. Check what's on this week in the schedule below. Suitable for all levels and hypermobile-friendly. Lower body and hips- this class will strengthen your pole climbs, work on hip flexibility for moves like ballerina and conditioning for splits. Upper body and core - working arms, wrists, shoulders, chest and abs this class will improve your upper body strength, flexibility and mobility for tricks, spins, shoulder rolls, inverts, forearm and handstands. Backbends - strengthen your back and lengthen your front body, building confidence in your laybacks, inverts and generally being comfortable leaning back into space. Replenish and recover - deep, mindful stretches for the whole body, targeting muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, and fascia, helping your body rest and recover while improving flexibility and strength.
